Awkward space, an uncomfortable window and a structural issue were at the forefront of this project. A drab sitting room, master bedroom with two small closets and a bathroom sized for a small child were all opened up. A previous structural issue was corrected by resupporting the floor and opening up the ceiling which created a highly desirable cathedral effect in the bathroom. A window allowing light in but still providing privacy was custom designed. It also served as a backdrop for a leaded glass window to hang in front as a sentimental statement piece from the client’s childhood home. A skylight was added over the large walk-in shower to provide more natural light. Clean and refined finishes let this light and airy design shine.
